A fundraising campaign for our project at Sunnyside Community Gardens was launched in April with support from the Mayor of Islington and the local Islington North MP, Jeremy Corbyn.

Sunnyside Community Gardens is a massive back garden for local people with a long history of providing therapeutic horticulture for people with disabilities, and those recovering from illness.

We've been supporting Sunnyside for a few years, developing plans for a new volunteer centre there. The structure will replace temporary buildings on the site with a lean, robust, low maintenance new facility to support Sunnyside’s existing activities and enable them to increase their programme of community gardening. The launch was a great opportunity to mark out the proposed footprint of the building, and to talk to volunteers and other stakeholders about the project.

Living close to Sunnyside, and running a practice based in the borough, we've always enjoyed visiting and spending time in the garden - it's a real privilege to be involved in this truly worthwhile project.
