Our proposals for the Deptford site, which is home to more than 60 makers, were approved by the London Borough of Lewisham in 2022, and are planned to be completed in September this year.
The designs include a dramatic opening-up of the existing building to create public spaces at ground floor including a new entrance, cafe, education space and public walled garden.
This new opening will create a public entrance to the building, allowing access to a previously hard to reach yard space - transforming this underused secret garden into a welcoming and attractive outdoor space that can be used by makers, visitors and local residents.
The project team includes: Gardiner and Theobald as QS, New Stages as Project manager, Max Fordham for M&E and lighting, Momentum Structural Engineering, Jane Simpson Access Consultancy, Filigree Communications.
